Sample Activity of Integration – File and Folder Management

Context

Senior One students of Kapeket Secondary School recently went for a Geography trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park and they took very many photos using their class teacher’s digital camera.

Upon returning to school, the students transferred all their photos from the camera to one of the desktops in the computer laboratory. The photos were saved in a folder with a size of 5 GB. The students’ class monitor later shared all their photos with one of their former classmates who currently lives in Ghana.

a) Explain how the photos were sent to the former classmate in Ghana, starting from transferring them from the camera.

b) Students were later given 12 new CDs, each 700 MB, by their teacher on which to save all their trip photos.

i) Describe how the trip photos were transferred from the hard disk to the CDs provided by the teacher.

ii) How many CDs full of data do you think the students used? Give reasons for your answer
