Sample Activity of Integration – Fruit Crop Production

Fruit crops are widely cultivated in many parts of Uganda. The Hass avocado is one of the most liked variety due to its marketability, both locally and Internationally. Most Hass seedlings are available as vegetatively propagated materials especially by grafting or budding. Farmers buy seedlings from the local nursery bed operators and when the seedlings are established, they exhibit characteristics different from those of Hass. The seedlings take longer than three years to produce fruit. Also, the fruits are not liked on the market.

Sample Activity of Integration - Fruit Crop Production 1

Suppose you are a farmer intending to engage in Hass avocado production for an immediate export market, develop a flow chart on how you will establish the variety by vegetative propagation to produce highly marketable fruits.
