Topic 14: Time and Timetables – Sample Activity

The ministry of health wants to sensitize community leaders about COVID-19 in your sub-county. The ministry officials wish to organize sessions next Saturday of 1 hour each from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and wish to have a lunch break of 1 hour.

Task

Help the ministry officials to draft a timetables for the activity.

Remember

  1. Ante meridiem (a.m) starts from midnight to midday and Post meridiem (p.m) starts from noon to midnight.
  2. Converting from a.m time to 24-hour time, the time does not change. For example, 3:40 am = 03 40 hrs.
  3. Changing p.m time to 24-hour time add 12 hours, for example, 2:30pm = 14 30 hrs apart from 12:00 noon and 12:00 midnight.
  4. Subtract 12 00 hrs from any time above 12:00 noon to change from 24 to 12-hour clock and any time below does not change.
  5. A leap year has 29 days of February. 2 DE 40
