Air enables chemicals and biological process to take place. iii. Water is useful for both domestic and industrial use. iv. Plants provide food, raw materials v. Man provide labour for production to take place. vi. Animals and insects also act as a source of food. c) Outline the business requirements that affect natural environment. i. Business premises. Postive effects. - Production of goods and services to the community members. - Provision of employment opportunities. - Contribution to the community development programs. - Payment of taxes to the government which in turn provides social services - Cleaning of the environment - Provision of entertainment services - Provision of market to the society - Promotion of infrastructural development - They act as sources of study purposes and research to students and other community members. Negative Effects - They create air pollution. - They create noise pollution. - They make the environment dirty. - They destruct the aquatic life and water catchment areas. - They reclaim the swamps and wetlands. - They practice deforestation. - They displace people and animals - They promote moral decay - They cause poor health to the people such as miscarriage - Destruction and killing of natural beauty. - They cause soil erosion - They promote moral decay b). DEGRADED NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. This refers to the nature of environment which of less Quality to those to those who are dependant or using it. EFFECTS OF A DEGRADED ENVIRONMENT. a)lt leads to poor health of the labour force, making it less productive in business. b)It leads to drought and famine. This reduces agricultural productivity.. c)Exhaustion of some rawmaterials.Natural resources may be fully depleted. d)Extinction of some species. This is due to destruction of habitats and feeding zones of some plants and animals. e)It leads to reduction in soil fertility and this leads to poor quality output of agricultural produce.
