The people living in the area shown on the map extract of Lukaya sheet 79/2, series Y732and edition 3-USD between easting 80 and 88 and northing 82 and 99 have stayed in this area for years. Of recent the water in the drainage feature south west of the area kept reducing, swamps in the north kept on drying among others. People are worried as this may lead to death of animals, drying of crops and death of human beings. The people have no information on what is happening. NEMA officials would want to meet the members of this community to address the situation.

If this is to continue over time, fisheries officials say it will be disastrous, but people have continued with the activity.
